The divorce between Indian boxing icon MC Mary Kom and her ex-husband Karung Onkholer, commonly known as Onler, has escalated into a prominent public dispute in January 2026. The couple's nearly two-decade-long marriage concluded with a divorce in 2023, which Mary Kom confirmed in 2025. The controversy intensified after Mary Kom publicly accused Onler of significant financial fraud during their marriage. She alleged that Onler stole her money, including an instance of withdrawing ₹10 lakh from her account without consent, and unlawfully transferred properties and assets worth crores into his name. These claims were made in recent interviews, including on the show 'Aap Ki Adalat'. Mary Kom reportedly denied cheating on her husband, attributing the breakdown of their marriage to financial betrayal. In response, Onler Kom vehemently denied all allegations of financial impropriety. He counter-accused Mary Kom of having extramarital affairs, citing two separate instances. He alleged that she first had an affair in 2013 with a junior boxer, which caused family disputes but was later resolved. Onler further claimed that since 2017, Mary Kom has been in a relationship with an individual associated with the Mary Kom Boxing Academy. Onler stated he possesses 'WhatsApp messages' and other proofs to substantiate his claims. He also challenged Mary Kom to provide documentary evidence for her financial accusations.
