Ramachandra Rao in a compromising position within his office. The footage, reportedly stitched together from multiple clips, shows Rao, at times in uniform, engaging in intimate acts with women. The videos began circulating widely on social media on January 19, 2026, sparking public outrage and drawing immediate attention from the government. DGP Rao has strongly refuted the allegations, asserting that the videos are entirely fabricated and have been created using artificial intelligence (AI) with the intent to tarnish his reputation. He stated that he is consulting with his legal counsel to pursue action against those responsible for spreading the false information. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has responded decisively to the unfolding scandal, ordering a comprehensive investigation into the matter. He emphasized that no individual, regardless of their position, is above the law and assured that strict disciplinary action would be taken if the officer is found guilty. The Chief Minister's office has requested a detailed report from the Home Department.
