However, the CBFC immediately appealed this decision, and a division bench of the High Court granted a stay on the single judge's order. The matter then escalated to the Supreme Court, which declined to intervene directly and instead directed the Madras High Court to hear and decide the case by January 20. The film, touted as Vijay's last before his full-time political entry, was originally slated for a January 9 release. The ongoing legal and censorship issues have indefinitely postponed its release, leaving fans anticipating any resolution.
