MediaTek officially unveiled its latest mobile System-on-Chips (SoCs), the Dimensity 9500s and Dimensity 8500, on January 15, 2026. This announcement, widely corroborated by multiple tech news outlets including TechPowerUp, Gizmochina, and Beebom, confirms MediaTek's expansion of its Dimensity family aimed at the flagship and premium smartphone markets. The Dimensity 9500s is positioned as a top-tier flagship processor, meticulously engineered on TSMC's advanced 3nm process. It boasts a formidable octa-core CPU configuration, including a high-performance Cortex-X925 core clocked up to 3.73 GHz, complemented by three Cortex-X4 premium cores and four Cortex-A720 efficiency cores. Graphics are handled by the Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU, which supports advanced ray tracing, promising an immersive gaming experience. This chipset also supports cutting-edge features like LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4 storage, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and up to 320MP camera sensors. Meanwhile, the Dimensity 8500 is designed for the premium smartphone segment, built on TSMC's N4P (4nm) process. It features an all-big-core design comprising Cortex-A725 cores at varying clock speeds (one at 3.4GHz, three at 3.20GHz, and four at 2.20GHz), paired with a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, offering a 25% boost in peak graphics performance over its predecessor.
