Lalremruata was representing Venghnuai Raiders Cricket Club in a Khaled Memorial 2nd Division Screening Tournament match when he reportedly suffered a sudden medical emergency, with initial reports suggesting chest discomfort before he collapsed. Despite being rushed for immediate medical attention, doctors were unable to revive him, and he later succumbed. The Cricket Association of Mizoram (CAM) confirmed his death, stating that he suffered a stroke during the match. Lalremruata was a respected figure in Mizoram's cricketing circles, having represented the state in two Ranji Trophy matches and seven Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy games between 2018 and 2022.
