The reported spending represents a significant increase, being nearly two-and-a-half times the ₹1,352.92 crore spent in the financial year 2019-20, which included the previous Lok Sabha and seven Assembly elections. The audit report further highlights that election-related expenses constituted a dominant 88 percent of the BJP's total expenditure, which stood at ₹3,774.58 crore for 2024-25. The largest portion of this election spending, approximately ₹2,257.05 crore, was allocated to advertisements and publicity, demonstrating the party's significant investment in media outreach. Other notable expenditures included ₹583.08 crore on travel via aircraft and helicopters and ₹312.90 crore provided as financial assistance to candidates.
