Retired Indian Air Force (IAF) Warrant Officer Yogesh Kumar, 58, was tragically murdered on December 26 in the Loni area of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Investigations by the police have revealed a chilling family plot, alleging that Kumar's own sons, Nitesh and Guddu, orchestrated his killing. The primary motive behind the heinous act was a property dispute, as Kumar had reportedly asked his sons to vacate his house, intending to sell it. This decision allegedly angered the sons, who feared losing their claim over their father's property and 'hefty savings'.
The sons allegedly hired two contract killers for Rs 5 lakh to execute the murder. The assailants have been identified as Arvind, a 32-year-old neighbor with a criminal history, and his brother-in-law, Naveen Kumar, who is a serving Uttar Pradesh Police constable. Kumar was shot in the head near Ashok Vihar while walking and talking on his phone. CCTV footage reportedly showed Kumar attempting to flee and appearing to recognize his attackers, strengthening suspicions of an inside job. Arvind has been arrested and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody, with a country-made pistol and cartridges recovered from his possession. However, the two sons, Nitesh and Guddu, along with constable Naveen, are currently absconding, and police teams are actively pursuing their arrest. The case highlights the severe consequences of family greed and property disputes escalating into extreme violence in India.
