Minecraft players can now dive into further adventure with the release of the free 'Mounts of Mayhem: Dungeon Descent' add-on. Launched on January 9, 2026, this immersive pack, developed by Mythicus and 57Digital, builds upon the popular 'Mounts of Mayhem' game drop from December 2025. The add-on is available for free on the Minecraft Marketplace and significantly enriches gameplay by introducing 'Mayhem Dungeons'—procedurally generated underground structures marked by spear-holding statues on the surface. Players are challenged to descend into these dungeons, battle powerful mobs exclusively with spears, and unearth exclusive rewards, including new saddle charms.
The 'Dungeon Descent' add-on also emphasizes mount customization and housing, offering over 450 new custom blocks to design elaborate stables for various mounts like the Zombie Horse, Camel, and Nautilus. Players can personalize their favorite mounts with 15 distinct saddle charms, which create decorative particle trails while riding. Additionally, the add-on features spear training dummies, allowing players to hone their combat skills with the newly introduced spear weapon, which is essential for success in the challenging dungeons. This global release requires the latest version of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. The add-on expands on the core 'Mounts of Mayhem' update, which brought mounted combat, new hostile mounted foes, and the spear weapon into the game.
