Akshaye Khanna has reportedly exited the highly anticipated Hindi film 'Drishyam 3' following a significant increase in his fees after the monumental box office success of 'Dhurandhar' and 'Chhaava'. 'Dhurandhar' has emerged as a record-breaking success, crossing over ₹1200 crore globally and becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film, solidifying Khanna's comeback and market value. Film exhibitor Manoj Desai noted that Khanna's fee hike post-success allegedly cost him the role in 'Drishyam 3', emphasizing that actors should maintain composure after a hit. Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak of Panorama Studios confirmed Khanna's departure, stating that the actor walked out just days before filming was set to begin, despite approving the script and receiving an advance. Pathak revealed that disagreements over Khanna's remuneration, with reports indicating a demand for ₹21 crore, and a creative conflict regarding his insistence on wearing a wig for continuity reasons, were primary factors for his exit. The producer also expressed disappointment over Khanna's unprofessional conduct and confirmed that legal action has been initiated. Consequently, Jaideep Ahlawat has been finalized as Akshaye Khanna's replacement in 'Drishyam 3', which is slated for release on October 2, 2026.
