Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has publicly defended his frequent meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union Ministers, stating that these interactions are crucial for the development and welfare of Telangana. Responding to criticism from the opposition, particularly the BRS, which alleged he was 'bowing to Delhi bosses,' Reddy clarified that his visits to the national capital and engagements with central leadership are strictly in the state's interest, aimed at securing necessary funds, sanctions, and approvals for various projects.
During public addresses in districts like Mahbubnagar and Nirmal, CM Revanth Reddy reiterated that he has no personal agenda behind these meetings and is prepared to meet the Prime Minister 'any number of times' to ensure Telangana's progress. He highlighted specific mega-projects, such as the proposed airport in Adilabad and a large 10,000-acre industrial park in the same district, for which central approval and support are essential. Reddy also mentioned plans for a university at IIIT Basara and emphasized the importance of a 'give and take policy' with the Centre.
The Chief Minister pointed out that he intends to meet PM Modi roughly once every three months and other Union Cabinet ministers regularly, possibly every ten days, to continuously lobby for state projects. He urged opposition leaders to set aside petty politics and cooperate in bringing development to the state, rather than politicizing his efforts to maintain cordial relations with the Central government. This stance underscores his government's focus on pragmatic governance and fostering cooperation for Telangana's integrated development, especially for backward regions like Adilabad.
