Centre to prevent fake MGNREGA demands during new law transition

The Indian government is taking steps to prevent fraudulent demands under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) during its transition to a new employment law. Officials are coordinating with states to ensure only legitimate demands are processed before the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025, comes into effect.
