Former IAS probationer Puja Khedkar and her parents, Dilip and Manorama Khedkar, were allegedly sedated, tied up, and robbed at their residence on Baner Road, Pune, by a domestic helper. The incident was reported to the Pune police late on Saturday night, January 10, 2026. Puja Khedkar informed the police that a recently employed house help, reportedly from Nepal, administered sedatives to her and her parents, rendering them unconscious. The accused then allegedly tied them up and decamped with their mobile phones and other valuables. Puja Khedkar claimed she managed to free herself and alert the police using another phone. Upon reaching the bungalow, police found her parents unconscious, and they were subsequently shifted to a private hospital for treatment, where their condition is now stable. While a police probe has been initiated, a formal written complaint was yet to be lodged by Khedkar, who reported the incident over the phone. This incident comes after Puja Khedkar was controversially discharged from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in September 2024, following allegations of submitting forged documents and misrepresenting facts to avail reservation benefits during her UPSC civil services examination application. Her past has been marked by several controversies, including allegations of misusing official perks and her parents' prior legal troubles. Multiple credible news outlets, including The Hindu, India Today, and The Indian Express, have corroborated the core details of the robbery incident.
