Former MLC K. Kavitha, daughter of ex-Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), has been in extensive talks with prominent political strategist Prashant Kishor regarding the potential launch of a new political party in Telangana. These discussions, which reportedly gained significant traction during Kishor's recent five-day visit to Hyderabad and around the Makar Sankranti festival, indicate a serious move by Kavitha to establish an independent political platform. The meetings between Kavitha, who heads the cultural organisation Telangana Jagruthi, and Kishor, the founder of the Bihar-based Jan Suraaj Party, focused on critical aspects such as the vision, structure, and grassroots functioning of the proposed party. Sources suggest Kishor has expressed keen interest in providing strategic support to shape this new political entity, which aims to be people-centric. This development follows Kavitha's suspension from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in September 2025 due to alleged anti-party activities and her subsequent resignation from the Legislative Council, which was accepted in early January 2026. Since then, Kavitha has intensified her public engagement under the Telangana Jagruthi banner, openly criticizing both the BRS and the ruling Congress over various issues. She has declared her intention for her new political platform to contest the next Assembly elections in Telangana, signaling a significant realignment in the state's political landscape. While no official party name or launch date has been announced, these ongoing talks underscore a serious intent to carve out a new political identity.
