LTIMindtree, a prominent technology consulting and digital solutions company, has been awarded a substantial contract valued at ₹3,000 crore, equivalent to approximately $332 million, by India's Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). This seven-year mandate, officially named the 'Insight 2.0 project,' focuses on an AI-powered program aimed at modernizing India's national tax analytics platform. The objective of this significant digital transformation initiative is to enhance the analytical capabilities of the Income Tax Department, facilitating faster, data-driven decision-making and providing real-time insights for policymakers. The contract underscores LTIMindtree's growing role in enabling digital transformation for large-scale government projects. The announcement, made on January 16, 2026, saw a positive reaction in the market, with LTIMindtree shares gaining over 4%. This contract represents the company's third-largest order within the last 12 months, highlighting its robust performance and strategic wins in a competitive IT services landscape. It is also LTIMindtree's second engagement with the central tax body in less than a year. Previously, on August 7, 2025, the CBDT awarded LTIMindtree a ₹792 crore (approximately $87 million) mandate for the PAN (Permanent Account Number) 2.0 project, aimed at transforming India's PAN infrastructure by consolidating services into a single digital platform. This latest $332 million deal further solidifies LTIMindtree's position in critical government-to-citizen technology projects in India, leveraging advanced digital architecture and data analytics to streamline and modernize essential public services.
