JKBOPEE reopened NEET PG 2025 registration for Round 3.
National cut-off percentiles for NEET PG have been significantly reduced.
The move aims to fill numerous vacant postgraduate medical seats.
Registration is open for J&K and Ladakh candidates until January 20, 2026.
The Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has announced the reopening of the online registration portal for NEET PG 2025 Round 3 counselling for postgraduate medical admissions. This decision follows a national revision of qualifying percentile cut-offs, aimed at improving the occupancy of postgraduate medical seats across the country. Candidates from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh now have the opportunity to register or update their details on the official JKBOPEE portal, jkbopee.gov.in, with the registration window remaining open until January 20, 2026. The reduction in cut-off percentiles, implemented by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is a direct response to a significant number of vacant PG medical seats nationwide. For instance, the qualifying percentile for General and EWS categories has been lowered to the 7th percentile, and for reserved categories like SC, ST, and OBC, it has been reduced to the 0th percentile, with a corresponding cut-off score of -40 marks. This adjustment makes a larger pool of NEET PG-qualified candidates eligible to participate in the counselling rounds, thereby increasing the chances of filling the vacant seats, which are predominantly in newer medical colleges. JKBOPEE Chairperson Minu Mahajan stated that a provisional merit list is expected between January 22-23, 2026, with counselling commencing after January 27, 2026. This initiative aims to ensure better utilization of medical college resources and address the shortage of doctors. Candidates are advised to ensure the accuracy of their submitted documents for verification. The reopening of the registration is a crucial opportunity for aspirants who may not have met the previous, higher cut-off requirements to secure admissions for the 2025-26 academic session.
