Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani announced a significant commitment to Gujarat's development, pledging ₹7 lakh crore in new investments over the next five years. This declaration came during his address at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Kutch and Saurashtra region in Rajkot on Sunday, January 11, 2026. This new investment doubles the ₹3.5 lakh crore that Reliance had invested in the state over the preceding five-year period. During his speech, Ambani lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing him as India's "invincible protective wall" amidst a rapidly changing global geopolitical landscape and unexpected turbulence. He emphasized that under PM Modi's leadership, India is not merely preparing for the future but actively shaping it, and credited the Prime Minister with restoring India's civilizational self-belief and sense of purpose on the global stage. Ambani outlined five key commitments for Reliance in Gujarat. These include driving unprecedented investment, making Gujarat a global leader in green growth and clean energy with projects like the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex in Jamnagar, and transforming Kutch into a global clean energy hub. He also committed to making Gujarat a pioneer in new materials and the circular economy, with India's first carbon fiber facility at Hazira. Furthermore, Reliance Jio aims to make Gujarat a global leader in digital data platforms and AI adoption, building India's largest AI-ready data center in Jamnagar for affordable AI for every Indian. Reliance Retail will continue to empower farmers and small merchants, improving the quality of life for households across Gujarat. Ambani also indicated Reliance's partnership with Gujarat to improve sports and education infrastructure in preparation for India's potential bid for the 2036 Olympics. The conference saw PM Modi inaugurate the event, where he also spoke about India's era of unprecedented certainty and political stability.
