The tragic double murder of Ohio dentist Spencer Tepe, 37, and his wife Monique Tepe, 39, in their Columbus home on December 30, 2025, has led to the arrest and charging of Michael David McKee, Monique's ex-husband. The couple was discovered with fatal gunshot wounds after Spencer failed to report for work at Athens Dental Depot, prompting a welfare check by colleagues. Disturbingly, their two young children, aged one and four, were found unharmed inside the residence at the time of the discovery. Investigators believe the killings occurred between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., noting no signs of forced entry or a weapon found at the scene. A critical break in the case came from neighborhood surveillance footage, which captured a vehicle arriving near the Tepe residence shortly before the estimated time of death and leaving afterward. This vehicle was subsequently linked to Michael David McKee, a 39-year-old vascular surgeon. Following a 12-day manhunt, McKee was apprehended on January 10, 2026, in Rockford, Illinois. He has since been charged with two counts of murder, with reports indicating potential upgrades to premeditated aggravated murder. Court records show Monique Tepe and Michael David McKee were married in August 2015 and divorced in May 2017. Their divorce was reportedly amicable, and they did not have children together.
