Suzuki Motorcycle India has officially launched its much-anticipated electric scooter, the Suzuki e-Access, in the Indian market, marking the brand's entry into the electric two-wheeler segment. The e-scooter is priced at ₹1.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), positioning it as a premium offering in the competitive EV scooter space. Bookings for the Suzuki e-Access have already commenced across authorized Suzuki dealerships in India, with deliveries expected to begin shortly.
The Suzuki e-Access is powered by a 3.07 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, which the company claims offers a longer service life. It delivers a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 95 km on a single charge and is paired with a 4.1 kW (5.5 bhp) electric motor producing 15 Nm of torque. The scooter can achieve a top speed of 71 kmph, with a limited 55 kmph in Eco mode. Charging options include a portable charger taking around 6 hours 20 minutes to 6 hours 42 minutes for a full charge, while a fast charger can achieve 0-100% in approximately 2 hours 12 minutes.
Suzuki is emphasizing a comprehensive ownership experience, offering a 7-year or 80,000 km extended warranty at no extra cost, an introductory buy-back assurance of up to 60% after three years, a ₹10,000 loyalty bonus for existing Suzuki customers, and a ₹7,000 welcome bonus for new buyers. The e-Access comes equipped with a 4.2-inch TFT instrument console featuring Bluetooth connectivity for smartphone integration, turn-by-turn navigation, and call/SMS alerts. Other features include a keyless system, a multi-function starter switch, a USB charging port, three riding modes, regenerative braking, reverse assist, 12-inch alloy wheels, and all-LED lighting. Suzuki also plans to bolster its charging infrastructure with over 1,200 outlets equipped with AC charging and more than 240 dealerships already offering DC charging facilities.
The e-Access is positioned to rival other popular electric scooters in the Indian market such as the Honda Activa e:, Ola S1 Air, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Ather Rizta. While its price is on the higher side compared to some rivals, Suzuki aims to justify this with its robust build quality, advanced LFP battery technology, and extensive post-sales support, targeting customers seeking reliability and a long-term ownership proposition.
