Retired Indian Air Force (IAF) officer, 58-year-old Yogesh Kumar, was tragically murdered on December 26 in the Loni area of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Police investigations have revealed a shocking family conspiracy, alleging that Kumar's own sons, Nitesh and Guddu, orchestrated his killing. The primary motive behind the heinous crime was a property dispute; Yogesh Kumar had reportedly asked his sons to vacate his house, as he intended to sell the property, leading to escalating tensions. Out of greed for the property, the sons allegedly hired contract killers.
One of the alleged shooters, Arvind (32), a neighbour, has been arrested by the police. During interrogation, Arvind reportedly confessed to the crime, stating he carried out the shooting along with his brother-in-law, Naveen, who is a serving Uttar Pradesh Police constable. Arvind was produced before a Ghaziabad court and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody, with a country-made pistol and cartridges recovered from his possession. However, the victim's sons, Nitesh and Guddu, and the police constable Naveen, are currently absconding, and multiple police teams have been formed to apprehend them. The incident, initially appearing as a random attack, was meticulously planned, as indicated by CCTV footage and the targeted nature of the shooting near Ashok Vihar. The police continue their investigation, expecting further arrests as they unravel the full extent of this shocking crime rooted in family betrayal and property greed.
