Uttar Pradesh is currently hosting the significant 'Regional AI Impact Conference 2026' in Lucknow from January 12-13, 2026. Organized collaboratively by IndiaAI, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the Government of Uttar Pradesh, this two-day event aims to showcase cutting-edge applications of artificial intelligence in governance and public service delivery. The conference also plays a crucial role in aligning state-level AI initiatives with the broader objectives of the IndiaAI Mission, which focuses on safe, inclusive, and trustworthy AI for the public good. This regional gathering is a key precursor to the larger India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to take place in New Delhi from February 16-20, 2026. It is part of a national series of eight such regional conferences being organized across India, designed to gather momentum and regional insights for the national summit. Discussions at the Lucknow conference are centered on the responsible, inclusive, and scalable adoption of AI, with particular emphasis on transforming healthcare systems, digital public infrastructure, fostering economic growth, and contributing to social good. Prominent figures, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister of State Jitin Prasada, are participating, underscoring the state's commitment to becoming a leader in AI-driven healthcare and technology-led public service delivery. Initiatives such as establishing 62 AI and data labs across Uttar Pradesh and a dedicated UP AI Mission with an allocation of approximately ₹2,000 crores are also being highlighted to build a robust state-focused AI ecosystem.
